an eBook is Worth Your Time By Glen Ford Is it really worth it to write an eBook? After all, it's going to take at least a week's worth of your time, and maybe some of your money. That is a great deal of time, energy and money to spend on a bunch of bits and bytes. If you are a consultant, a professional, or an information marketer an eBook is the best investment in your future that you can make. In this article I'm going to examine why an eBook is worth your time to write. A consultant, a professional and an information marketer all share one characteristic in common. They survive and thrive based on their reputation. In order to convert their lead pipeline into sales they need to convince their potential clients that they know what they are talking about and that the client needs the information they can provide. An eBook is one of the best techniques there is to build that reputation. Unlike an article, an eBook is long enough to express your opinion and fully display your expertise. And a well written eBook is focused on solving a specific problem which most of your potential client base shares. This is not to be underestimated. By solving a problem with an eBook, you automatically gain credibility. If the eBook is well organized and well written, the reader will automatically believe that you can do what you say you can do. This belief will then carry over into other sales. For this reason alone, an eBook is a necessity for consultants, professionals, and information marketers. But they also have another advantage. Unlike a traditional printed book, eBooks are virtually cost free. They therefore make great freemiums or giveaways. Effectively, they can become a business card. But a business card that can convince your potential customer they should buy. But that's not the only reason -- although it is enough all on its own. Just because an eBook is not a physical product does not mean it's without value. It can be published and sold. Many traditional publishers are converting their book lists to digital formats. They then are able to sell the books through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and the Sonystore amongst others. Yes, I said sold. With the advent of the digital book reader (the eReader), digital format books or eBooks have become a viable format for the reading public. Unlike a physical book which can be quite awkward to carry, an eReader can carry a whole library in the size of a traditional trade paperback. And eBooks don't have to remain as a digital product. With the rise of the print-on-demand printer, books can now be printed as they are ordered. This makes self-publishing much more viable. And eBooks are perfectly positioned for this type of printing. Finally and importantly, eBooks do not require a traditional publisher. A traditional publisher expects to pay a great deal of money to prepare, print and distribute a book it buys. As a result they are very careful where they spend their money. They also are unable to purchase all the books that are available to them. An eBook does not have these dollar pressures. As a result anyone can publish and sell an eBook. All that's required is to make sure the product is of high quality. About the Author: Do you want to learn how to write a book in 24 hours?
